Leicester City 4 Huddersfield Town 2 24/1/09

So what a great game for my first home blog!! The stage was set after our mugging of the 3 points by 3 goals to 2 at the galpharm last october Huddersfield were out for revenge.
Huddersfield were first out the blocks with a frenetic start and were threatening the leicester goal. Phil jevons opened the scoring with a spectacular overhead kick on 6 minutes. Leicester however immediately responded with Bruno Berner's cross/shot turned in for his first goal by centre back Michael Morrison. This game was already looking like a humdinger and it was certainly that!!
No more goals in the first half but the tempo of the game never slowed to the whistle. Howard got booked for leading with the arm in an aerial challenge and Kerrea Gilbert also got booked after a few clumsy challenges
Half time change Mattock for Gilbert saw Berner go to midfield and debutant Tom Cleverly go to right back a position where he has played before.
Second half began with the visitors pressing and a poor clearance from howard saw Keegan Parker steer a great strike into the net to send the 3000 away support into raptures on 50 mins.
10 minutes later city were back level however when a guided Bruno Berner header found the left hand side of the net. This game was turning out to be just as thrilling if not more so then the october clash
Next it was city again in the goals as fryatt scrambled home for his first goal in 4 games and his 19th league goal of the season. Some neat work from Oakley set up the goal and Dyer claimed the assist. Then on 68 mins another first city goal this time for centre back Jack Hobbs firing in from an Oakley corner.
The noise and atmosphere was now coming from the leicester fans and the Huddersfield fans were shellshocked at the comeback. Town never really threatened again and the game had only 1 more flashpoint left. Roberts of the visitors kicked the ball away and was yellowcarded but continued to show dissent and was then showed a red by an overall poor referee.
All in all another thriller v Huddersfield and the 2 teams shared 11 goals in the 2 league fixtures city of course winning 7-4 on aggregate. I hope u like the pictures showing some of the goals!!

Yeovil Town 0 Leicester City 2 19/1/09

so a precious day off work for a televised live on sky sports 1 trip to somerset to see yeovil v leicester!!

I wouldn't normally take a day off in the week but this being a trip down memory lane and a new ground i felt obliged to do so

Having lived in Worcester between 95 and 06 and also near glastonbury between 89 and 95 i was passing two former residenses on the trip

This pic is from the supporters club coach and as u can see it was a sunny but cold day!! The picture at the top of the screen is my attempt to get the malvern hills from the coach as we passed by worcester!!

Also on the pictures r the bristol service station we stopped at (welcome break) and pics of the match!! Sorry bout the blurriness of some photos my hands were frozen solid despite gloves

I arrived at the ground at 645 an hour before kick off and promptly decided on something to eat when my phone rang, it was my gorgeous fiance just what i needed to warm me up on a cold night in tractor land!!!

Inside the ground the atmosphere was good and standing up was definately an experience, chants of "does ur scarecrow know ur here??" and "come on leicester we dont want to come here again!!" kept us entertained throughout

The game kicked off and city immediately dominated fryatt forcing a good save and oakley firing over when he should have done better. Also davies had a mazy run well saved. This was bout it as far as the first half went a forgettable affair which surely had many sky viewers wishing they had setanta or were down the pub!!

Second half started and it was yeovil who dominated the first 10 minutes with rodgers being a constant threat. That finished however when city took the lead, some neat work from davies and a fine 1-2 with howard saw howard firing a deflected shot into the net.

Yeovil tried to respond quickly but couldn't threaten martin in the leicester goal. On 85 minutes Rodgers went into the box for yeovil and looked to have been tripped and a few nervous seconds followed but the referee waved away the penalty claims

2 Minutes later Joe Mattock picked up the ball on the left wing after an assist from on loan manchester united substitute tom cleverly, and turned inside and curled a lovely curling strike into the bottom corner of the net

2-0 to lcfc and a great trip to go 7 points clear of MK Dons at the summit of league 1

Up the city!!
